Brownfield Villa Varaldo
Short Overview
Rectangular building with dimensions of approximately 31.40 by 17.20 m. It is spread over four floors, with the ground floor partially basement on the mountain side (side Amendola street). Attached to the building is a large, triangular plot of land, mainly green.
The building was built by the Province between 1932 and 1935 to house the provincial orphanage. Over the years it has been the seat of several public establishments: kindergarten, professional training centre, provincial offices and, from 2015, is unused.
By request of 22/09/2016, the Province forwarded to the Municipality of Savona a "Proposal for development and alienation" aimed at ending the bond of destination for public use provided by the PUC. The practice is still in progress.
